KENNETH BRANAGH GIVES FIRST UPDATES ON "THOR"

The production of epic action movie "Thor" is under way and the director Kenneth Branagh has revealed some details about the way the movie is going to look in an interview for "The Los Angeles Times". Here's what he said about how they will present two different worlds - the old world of the Gods and the new urban world:
Inspired by the comic book world both pictorially and compositionally at once, we've tried to find a way to make a virtue and a celebration of the distinction between the worlds that exist in the film but absolutely make them live in the same world. It's about finding the framing style, the color palette, finding the texture and the amount of camera movement that helps celebrate and express the differences and the distinctions in those worlds. If it succeeds, it will mark this film as different.... The combination of the primitive and the sophisticated, the ancient and the modern, I think that potentially is the exciting fusion, the exciting tension in the film.
Known as visual master genius and an expert in deep characterization, Branagh will surely gives us a stunning movie. Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Samuel L. Jackson, Stellan SkarsgÄrd, Ray Stevenson, Jaimie Alexander, Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston ... the movie is out May 6, 2011.

  1. Me thinks the same :)))
    Branagh is one of my favourite directors, and although I hate some of the casting choices in THOR (and I don't mean the leading actor), I have faith in him.

  4. I guess this means we'll see a lot of Thor's native Asgard.
    I was afraid they would show it only a little, but now it seem we have more than a scene or two in Asgard.

  7. @Anonymous
    Nice to have you here, visiting HOLLYWOOD SPY. You have a very nice CV behind you. And we love sf a lot, as you can see from our stories :) Beside speaking about his directorial vision in this interview, Branagh also spoke about rumors that say how the situation among the cast members isn't going well, and how Anthony Hopkins doesn't agree with his directorial approach, but Branagh said that those rumors aren't true and that all the cast members are getting along just fine :)
    As a THOR fan, how do you like Chris Hemsworth?

    @Bels
    I'm hoping as well that there will be a lot of Asgard, you know how I love fantasy and history.

    @Jaccsy and Star Child
    I also feel this could be a huge hit, but shall have to wait for the first pics and trailers to make the final judgment.

  9. yep, Stellan is not only the father of the blond God Alexander Skarsgard :) but is also a well known actor whom we have seen in KING ARTHUR, MAMMA MIA, PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN ....
